Cambria Scarecrow Festival 2012
The Cambria Scarecrow Festival is presented by The Cambria Historical Society with over 200 of the most artistic, creative and lively scarecrows on the streets of the charming seaside town of Cambria. The Scarecrows are up for the entire month of October and it's amazing to see the unique and creative display of over two hundred scarecrows.
Many are made by business who create scarecrows that portray their owners or the product they deal in, the Baker, the Restaurant and so on. Others are made by artists who compete with each other to be the most creative.
Cambria, California, is on the coast about half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco on Scenic Highway One near Hearst Castle State Park. Cambria, an artist’s colony, is always a great place to visit to enjoy the cool summers our sparking fall and winter days. Cambria looks like a town from the past with its unique store fronts and old town charm. There are a couple of original historic buildings in Cambria, however, in the late 1800's the entire town of Cambria, with the exception of a few buildings burned to the ground.
